Megan, who you met at Coachella, is a seasoned LA veteran and I can always count on her for a solid weekend in the city of angels. We got decked out in our finest Hawaiian attire, rented bikes on the Venice boardwalk, and started the journey south to Hermosa beach. Upon arrival, we joined up with the rest of the gang and made our way back to Venice, stopping at a bar in each beach town along the way.
^ the best bike bell I’ve ever seen
Bikes are pretty inexpensive to rent from the boardwalk. Just make sure that you bring an alternate form of ID (or car keys) to give the bike rental shop to hold onto, as you don’t pay until you return the bike. You’ll need some form of ID that you can take with you to the bars.
Don’t feel confined to the Hawaiian theme. Because bike riding weather is year round in LA, here are some thought starters for possible themes:
Halloween Bar Crawl
Wig Bar Crawl
Santa Bar Crawl – Full Santa costumes encouraged a la Santacon
Fiesta Bar Crawl – Margaritas, Mexican beer, and tequila only (not for the faint of heart)
Superhero Bar Crawl
50’s/60’s/70’s/80’s Bar Crawl
American Bar Crawl – American flag shirts and shorts/ portable radio blasting a loop of “American Girl”, “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue”, “God Bless the USA” AND “Party in the USA” required
I also hate to say it, but it’s not a bad idea for a bachelorette party. Go wild.
