I told you my plan was to hit all the boat parties by Christmas and I. am. on. a. roll.
The weather has been up and down recently, but luckily it was up for our friend’s going away party. He rented out a catamaran and politely let everyone know that they would not be let on the boat without some semblance of a costume, given the proximity to Halloween.
50 sailors, boy scouts, referees and one T-Rex boarded the boat with chilly beverages and an assortment of meat for the grill in hand and we set off for what I’ve now deemed “party cove”, since it’s where all the party boats seem to hang. It’s cozied up next to the Taronga Zoo and has a super nice view of the Opera House and bridge, and is the perfect place to spend an afternoon swimming with great white sharks.
I’m not joking. There are literally great white sharks swimming in the same harbor as me. The rosé, unfortunately, did not wipe that from my general awareness (cue slight freak out upon jumping off the boat into the water and posting up on a floating unicorn for most of the day).
This boat was fun, because there were no rules other than BYO-Floaties. We danced and swam and floated around while the nice captains grilled up sausages and hamburgers for us, before sailing over for a closer look at the Opera House and Sydney Bridge as the sun began to set behind the clouds and the temperature turned cool.
Talk a-boat another perfect Saturday in Sydney.
