Where does one celebrate freedom in the good ole U-S-of-A? The Hamptons, of course.
I mentioned in this post from Southampton that Memorial Day Weekend marks the annual migration of New Yorkers to the beach, but July 4th is when things heat up.
It’s common for the 20-somethings of the city to group together and rent “share houses” in the Hamptons for the summer. Our group came prepared and rented a house in Montauk from Memorial Day through Labor Day, but often times people will get a house only for the month of July, so the weekend of the 4th is when things really kick off.
To celebrate America in true form, you’ve got to wear red, white and blue and add lots of saltwater, fireworks, and alcohol…. so we headed down to the Barcardi Lemonade Beach Party at Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Spa and did just that.
